wheel still shifted after alignment from dealer?
My front right wheel hit the curb during the previous snow storm and pushed the wheel slightly to the back of the car for about 1/4 inches. The car was drifting to the left. I got the car back from the dealer today and the wheel is still visibly shifted to the rear (wheel is closer to the splash guard than the other one), and the car is pulling to the right side now. They said they didn't see anything damaged from the bottom of the car and the car was put on the alignment rack. How can that be? Somebody at the dealer made some serious error? My odometer read 9999 when I went in, and now reads 10002, so obviously they test drove it...
Should I have a word with the service manager??? I am scheduled to return in 2 days because I have already addressed the problem. They said it could be the tire.....WHATEVER.

Please take it back to the dealer if you are not satisfied with the work done. It is unlikely that the work was done under warranty. So, if you paid you should demand that they fix it right.

No, it was obviously not a warrenty work. I just didn't bring my tape measurement with me when I was picking up the car. The dislocation of the wheel has not changed since I brought it in. I even have a copy of the alignment report. I am going back in tomorrow.

What did the alignment printout show ? It's possible the toe is dialed into 0, but the center of the wheel still can be off. What they will need to do is lock the steering wheel in the center position and then redial in the toe. That should fix the steering being off center.

But will that fix the dislocation of the wheel?
My readings are following:
__________Left Front_______Right Front
Camber_____-0.3 degrees____0.3 degrees
Caster______1.2 degrees_____0.3 degrees
Toe _______-0.01 degrees___-0.01 degrees
Not sure if it's the measurements after the alignment, but they are the only numbers on the sheet..

But the dealer said everything was ok?!?!
Like I said, my keen eye tells me that the right front wheel is closer to the splash guard than the left front wheel, with a difference of 1/4 of an inch.

I'd take it to another dealer.
From personal experience it could be the aluminum supporting part (arm?).

All right, just talked to the dealer and they finally figured out what's wrong. There are a few suspension components that need to be replaced, including the knuckle. Totaly cost plus labor is $1300.... Time to call my insurance..
