What they're saying over at Club Lexus - '09 RL

I was one of those people. I appreciate Honda/Acura, but until they re-release the NSX, introduce a proper LS-fighter, develop a 6-8 speed auto, and offer SH-AWD & things like keyless access on all their cars, they will be relegated to 3rd tier status. None of these shortcomings would prevent me personally from buying an Acura, but they are hurting the image of the brand IMO.

Well it was because of the NSX, that Acura was considered a luxury brand and a true player. Without it...Acura really has nothing.
Halo car? TL? Not happening.
Flagship car? RL? Well only because it's the "best" that is offered...and even then.
At this rate, just call the MDX the Acura flagship car and call it a day.

I tend to like smooth, "flowing" designs for cars (e.g., Infiniti G and M) as opposed to the "sharp angle" style (e.g. Cadillac). It seems like Acura is trying to fit between the two. The Accord, for example, with the square angled front end and the smooth, flowing back end. It seems like Honda/Acura is trying to be merge styles that just don't fit well.
In partcular, I think Honda/Acura seems to be messing up on the grille designs lately.
First, the new CR-V grille
Then the "Viking shield" on the new MDX
and now the square grille borrowed from the Ridgline is on the Accord
and finally the just plain weird one on the new RL...
just my usual two cents...
