Undercoating & foam?

I am bringing in the RL for undercoating (rust check) as a preventative measure as we live in snow/slush country. The undercoat store stated that some of these new cars have foam inside areas to act as a sound deadener. Where can I have them drill and spray without encountering foam? I would like to pay special attention to the wheel wells as it has been mentioned here in the past. Help if you can!

I don't know why you need the car undercoated, I live in Nebraska and we have pretty bad winters here. The car is almost 8 years old and it has no rust. Also the underside of the RL has a plastic protector under the engine and on the sides of the car, and im pretty sure both of the wheel wells.

pull off the rubber stripping in the wheel wells. its on the lip of the fenders. salt snow etc get stuck in that liner and that was the major cause of HONDA ROT like you see on the 88-01 Civic's Integra's

Yup the cursed rubber lip, I had an '88 Legend and this was an area that was a big problem. I realize that this RL is well protected but why not rust check, it can't hurt. So, i guess no one knows whether there is foam inside the sills etc..

If the shop can't figure out what they need to do to work on your car, I would go to another shop.

What is the harm in spraying foam where foam already exists?

Some rust check material attacks the foam and 'melts' it. At least that's the rumour. Anyway, I'm going to have the RL completely covered with this rust check in all areas that are open to salt/slush/snow/snirt...LOL

yeah, I wouldnt drill anything.
Having been under my car a few times I would think they could coat vulnerable areas with no modifications.
