Tsb 05-027

After having 05-027 performed last week, (along with a few others) I noticed something that doesn't seem quite right.
If I have the cruise set for 74 or so and need to slow down - say, for a toll - I hit the cancel button. Then, after paying the toll, I want to resume. So, I wait until I get to about 35-40 mph and hit resume. The car will then accelerate back to 74mph, but it doesn't shift out of 3rd gear until about 70 mph, then it shifts into 4th and then immediately into 5th. It seems to me like the car is staying in 3rd too long. Can anyone else confirm if they have noticed anything like this, or maybe even try this out and see what happens? I don't think it did this before the update was performed last week. Although, this could be normal operation that I'm simply not used to.

Wasn't the TSB supposed to update the PCM software to fix this problem?

I didn't want to say it....but, yes. I thought the shifting could have been smoother before the TSB, but I didn't notice anything like this.

Does it feel the same as if you were trying to pass and have the gas fully pressed. The transmission will stay in gear longer under med to hard throttle.

Almost like an "overdrive"?

It sounds like what would happen if you were in full automatic and gassed it suddenly to pass someone. The engine will auto-downshift to a higher gear so it could gain speed while passing, then it will shift into the cruising gear after reaching the pre-set speed.

I did try to duplicate your problem on my way to work today, since I also set it for 73-74 mph on the highway. No problems shifting back from 3 thru 4 and then 5. Could not find the problem as you described it. Sorry.

Thanks for trying!
