Is it true Canadian models get more stuff?

I had an 04 (and 05) TL-Navi and I remember reading that the Canadian models had washer fluid level indicators on the dash and TPMS. Now I hear that Canadian model RL's have heated/cooled seats. Is this ture? If so, WTF??

exactly, what the f.ck.
Canadians do have some serious feature which we desire, but they also miss some feature which we barely use, do the math and you find that they win and get their moneys worth.
Good job honda, cooled seats in Canada!!!

Ok. I am going to get in this debate now and set my position. The majority of Canada does not have harsh cold winters like Ohio and Michigan. The majority of them have fair weather most of the year - YES contrary to popular belief - so them having cooled seats is not completely ridiculous.

We also got features which they didn't get. There is some trade-off here. Eventually the US RL will have cooled seats. We didn't get them and we all knew that when we bought the RL. If cooled seats was the sole feature you desired you should have bought the M or GS.

There are multiple threads on this, search next time.

my rage is not because Canadian models have cooled seats, but US models not having them. Canadians didn't get XM and nav traffic because its not available and supported in their region, but why do we have to suffer from not having such features, specially ones who live in hot areas.
Honda talk about keeping the cost down, but they offer three different trims including JDM, now does that make sense?

ever been to certain parts of fucking Canada? Dont try and imply it is a damn igloo here. The next yank that assumes it never gets warm here...come visit me in the summer.

As for acting like we get our moneys worth....the car costs 70 THOUSAND DOLLARS HERE. Go convert the U.S. price to cdn bucks and come back and tell me we get our money's worth.

I think the thread took a wrong turn.

VP911, I did search the threads and didn't see any useful information regarding why Canadian models get additional features (examples being washer fluid level indicator & TPMS in the 04 TL and cooled seats in the RL). Secondly, you may have mis-interpreted my issue; it's not that a single feature sways my decision, but rather, what's the logic in sending additional features to Canada. Good for them if they have it, but why differentiate between North America USA and North America Canada? There must be an explanation, and that's what I'm looking for.

Rob L, I don't know Qutar or VP911, but I'm sure they (nor I) was insuating anything negative about Canada, just wondering why Acura add features in your models that's not available in our models.

First, I dont care if people say negative things about Canada. I didnt create the country nor do I own it nor do I care what anyone thinks about it. I merely reply to ignorant comments/assumptions.

My response was directed towards Qatar and not you. Vik (VP911) and I are cool and he isnt ignorant about Canada.

As for your question, the only thing I can think of is that we dont get onstar or xm here so they needed to slap something in for us that the U.S. doesnt get. Also, the price of the car here is more than the price of the U.S. model taking into account current & recent exchange rates so again, they needed to add soemthing to justify the price.

I personally think it is silly they left the ventilated seat function out of the U.S. RL because so many people want them and bitch about it and the fact that RL competitors have ventilated seats doesnt help the situation.

BTW we also have 3 year/60,000KM complimentary scheduled maintenance on our Canuck RLs.

I'm not ignorant of Canada because i've visited many times and stayed in Calgary, where its really cold, i know what i'm talking about and said nothing negative of Canada, so you stop bitching. I don't care about how much you paid, your in Canada and you paid what they priced the vehicle at in there, so i care less of how much you paid.
My concern was about US models not getting these features, if not standard Honda could have made them optional, but they didn't.

I'm not ignorant of Canada nor of many places i've visted (unlike you) , i've visited many times and stayed in Calgary, where its really cold, i know what i'm talking about and said nothing negative of Canada, so you stop bitching. I don't care about how much you paid, your in Canada and you paid what they priced the vehicle at in there, so i care less of how much you paid.
It just seemed odd that the US models missed the cooled seats knowing the the heat in some areas of the States surpasses those in Canada .Honda could have made them optional, but they didn't.

67% of the fucking CDN population lives in Ontario and Quebec with the majority of that living in Ontario. Ontario and Quebec arent like Calagry thus, you are ignorant to what it is like here. Do you even know what the word "ignorant" means?

As for the cdn price....you said CANADIANS GET THEIR MONEY'S WORTH and I am telling you the car costs 70 grand here which is a lot higher than the U.S. price after conversion so we arent getting our money's worth.

My goodness, what is your IQ? I'm guessing double digits.

Unlike me? So what, are you trying to tell me where I have or haven't been or are you making some retarded assumption that I dont know about places I have been?

I guess I will be like Qatar. I have been to Buffalo many times (since I live an hour away) and it gets cold there so by Qatars logic it gets very cold in the whole U.S of fuggin A.

Guys - enough. Sorry Paul I had to close the thread. If you would like, feel free to repost the question in another thread and I will keep it open and ask that Qatar and Rob L keep out of it so you can get answers and opinions of other RL owners.

But, yes, to your question - it is true that the canadian model gets more - but I think it is justified because of the price difference. IMO the US RL will get more of these features eventually - perhaps next model year.

Actually vik, the vast majority of the Canadian land mass is very, very, very cold in the winter, it is just that the majority of Canadians are smart enough to live in the southern parts of the country with the milder weather (like Vancouver, Toronto and southern Ontario, Montreal etc.) Out here in the northwest, it gets cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.
Regarding the cooled seats, RobL is 100% correct in saying that we paid through the nose for that little bit of luxury since the RL's MSRP up here is equivalent to over $60,000 U.S..

You are right, I meant to say the majority of the people live in warmer climates.

a week off? So it'd be like the equiv of being thrown into the hole at a prison? heh...j/k bro. Sorry for making you waste your time cleaning up the thread. I just couldn't restrain myself from replying to the Q man's uh, comments.

Anyway, yeah 67% of the CDN population lives in Ontario/Quebec so regardless of what the majority of land mass is like, the fact is most of the actual people (who drive the cars) live in a diff area where it gets hot during the summer.

I'd venture there are more RLs in the GTA than the rest of the country combined.

Now if anyone in the U.S. really wanted to pay 70K CDN (equiv of around 60K USD) for the RL just to have cooled seats then be my guest. Fact is you arent getting a deal.

I would like to think there has to be some way people can get cooled seat ability into their U.S. RLs for a decent price.

You'd be amazed at how many people who are given a week off come back and realize they can't live without this place. It's like crack but without all the fun side-effects.

Well to be perfectly honest I could easily do the time so it isnt much of a threat to me. If I get into it again with someone here who isnt worth the time, just tell me you are going to hunt me down and chop off my nuts. Better yet, hunt me down and tell me you will cause damage to my RL...that'd keep me in line.
