I was at the dealership today and looked at a fully loaded 06 RL (270 miles) with the tech package. The car has a list price of $53,000+, so I asked what it would cost me to trade in my 05 (9K miles, spent $48k+).

The sales manager wanted $12,000, and I counter with $8,000 to which he show absolutely no interested in.

Has anyone else upgraded to a 06 RL with tech package from an 05 (in addition to Qatar)?

 

All I can add to this is that I was able to get my 06 with tech at slightly less than $50K.
Do the math, figure out your blue book on your car, figure the tax savings in trading it in, go to Carmax or another dealer that takes cars for cash and is competitive, and use your calculator.

 

Just did it for a little under $10k including a back up camera with the Tech Package. My 05 also had a little over 9k miles. Seems like a good deal for a year later model and about $4k of additional goodies and safety equipment. Also, adios to the first year gremlins.

The 06 with Tech Pack seems to handle a little tighter and ride a little better than the 05 - could be the PAX tires. Seems to be some incentive money from Acura out there right now, so the dealers seem a little more flexible. I don't know how long that will last.
