TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)

TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
Today my 2005 Acura RL signaled that there was a problem with the TPMS -- no flashing lights -- just a steady error light. Tried to get my trusty ScanGuage to show a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code). Either the ScanGauge does not (at least not under my operation) show such a DTC or no code was thrown. If I turn the ignition off and then restart the RL all is fine for about seven miles.
Before I take it to the dealership, has anyone had any such problems or have any ideas on a fix. I know that TPMS's are a growing problem across the auto industry.
Thanks for any guidance that you may provide.

I don't know what is wrong, but it will be interesting to hear if it is the TPMS receiver in the car, or the transmitters in the wheels.
I have read that the transmitter batteries have a life of 5-7 years, but have not actually heard of any failing on the RL except due to poor installation with new tires, where the TPMS was not properly installed so the valves failed to hold air over time...

Thanks for the thoughts on the issue. More information: The tires have been own for two years, no flats, no slime, no new window tint, air pressure 30R/32F, never any other problems with the TPMS, alternator 137-13.9 vts., car battery 3 months old -- tests perfect, never changed TPMS wheel sensors/batteries.
Last night when I started the car the TPMS displayed psi's of 32 in each front, 30 in passenger rear and 58 (Yes, 58.)in the driver's rear (I said "no way", checked my pressure again -- 31psi. Then about 10 miles into this trip I got the dreaded "Check the TPMS." I subsequently scrolled the phrase"TPMS system error."

Thanks. Swapped the errant reading wheel with an okay wheel. The problem followed the wheel. The problem was isolated and solved by installing a new TPMS wheel sending unit in the offending wheel. $48 in parts (Accura dealership) and a free installation by the automotive manager (a good friend) at Walmart resolved everything. Thanks again.
