TPMS Issue - OEM Acura?

Hi RLovers,

I just purchased some very nice 2009 Acura TL rims to put on my RL. Now that they are on, the TPMS doesn't recognize them. The owner of the TL rims says they have the sensors and they worked fine on his 2012 TL.

Not sure what the RL isn't picking up these Acura sensors. I have driven it around and it still doesnt pick it up. Is there something I need to do (ie i read on the honda forums that deflating and re-inflating the tires may kick up the sensor to reset. Or do I have to just pony up a trip to the dealership.

Any advice would be great,
C

09+ TL TPMS Sensor - 42753-TY2-A51
05+ RL TPMS Sensor - 06421-S3V-A04

Might be shit out of luck unless the dealer can sync them to the RL..

The RL automagically syncs TPMS sensors, but I am unsure if you have to have a certain model or not.

According to this chart

http://www.yourtireshopsupply.com/pd...E%205-1-13.pdf

the 2 sensors have different FCC codes (which means its probably on a different RF frequency).

Looks like i'm off to ebay to buy new TPMS sensors, and going to sell these TL sensors.

These tire pressure monitors and the RL is still not recognizing them. It doesn't seem like it's one switch it seems like it's all of them but I don't think the sensors are bad Is there anyway to week these things up or have it recognize reset. I've been driving around like the OEM says and it's still not picking up. Any help greatly appreciated

I had the same thing happened when I replaced my tires. Sometimes the place that changes your tires or does the work damages the TPS valve. They are about $14 a piece plus labor and there's really no way to prove that the actual facility damaged them. Mine were working fine until I got the car back
