Towing an RL
Towing an RL
So I am watching Parking Wars on A&E. They (in Philly) use a tow truck that captures the front wheels and off they go.
Wouldn't a tow like that screw-up an RL?

I think being a FWD based car it can still be pulled by the front wheels.
When you drop the car into park, you can still push the car couple inches. When you use the foot brake you cannot.
Anyone got some towing experience?

I don't think so. They towed this car less than 5 minutes after I parked it once...

and it has AWD. When I came crying to the tow place afterwards they said that they are very careful how they tow it with this tow hook and it doesn't mess up the AWD on the car at all. They said they tow over 100 cars out of that lot every day! I only went into the restaurant to see if it was part of the shopping center (it was right next to it) and they screamed NO, THEY TOW! I ran back out and it was gone. Turns out they have spotters with binoculars and the tow truck is parked around the corner. As soon as you walk off, in less than 5 minutes your car is GONE!
I had my local Porsche shop check it out the next week. They said that the AWD viscous coupling (I think that was the term) was fine. I'm guessing that RL's might be similar in some way, maybe not.
