Time for ATF flush - Acura ATF-Z1 or Mobil 1?

Time to do 60k miles Transmission flush. Many people on this forum have recommended getting about 10qts of fluid to do the procedure and before i spend $$$ on the fluid, i wanted to get a final opinion on which fluid is better - The OEM Acura/Honda ATF-Z1 ... or ... Mobil 1 Synthec ATF?

Did your MID come on to tell you it was time to change it? Don't go by mileage, go by when the car tells you it's time. In the manual, that's what Acura states keeps maintenance costs low.

There's a board that talks fluids to death. They recommend Amsoil for the Honda/Acura 5-speed automatic.

I got the car used last year and i am not sure when was the last time the ATF was actually changed or if it ever was. Anyone can reset the MID without touching any of the fluids.

When it comes to AT fluid replacement, i try not to exceed more than 30k miles before i do a flush, or at least a drain/refill - on Acura or any other car.
I am really not interested what Acura/Honda recommends as "correct" AT fluid replacement intervals, unless they were using some ultra high quality, synthetic AT fluid in their cars. They are not.
If i do put Amsoil high quality ATF in my car, then maybe, i will keep the fluid for 40-50k miles. I trust Amsoil (or Mobil) for their quality control.

I don't believe car makers who claim that their cars don't need any tune-up or fresh AT fluid...or brake fluid....or PS fluid for 100k+ miles. I learned my lesson in the past.
I used to have an older generation Mercedes E-class and Mercedes "recommended" no ATF replacement for the first 100k miles. MANY people who followed this "recommendation" had to rebuild AT transmission around 120k miles. There were almost no exceptions. It cost me $3500 to get a new/rebuilt Benz tranny at the time.

A DIY ATF flush will cost me about $100 on my RL. I just need to know if i can SAFELY switch from Acura/Honda ATF to something more upscale (Mobil 1/Amsoil) and hopefully get even smoother shifts and longer transmission life.

Thanks!

In which section of the Acurazine forums is this? I did not see "fluids/maintenance" forum.

Thanks!

Found this in the RDX TQI procedures. No mention on backwards compatibility

http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/SB/B10-020.pdf

NEW MODEL INFORMATION

New Automatic Transmission Fluid
A new automatic transmission fluid is used starting in
2011 models. ATF DW-1 is the new automatic
transmission fluid that helps improve low temperature
performance. Do not use any other transmission fluid
in 2011 models.

New AWD Differential Fluid
A new differential fluid is used in all 2011 SH-AWD
models. Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF)
replaces ATF-Z1 as the recommended rear differential
fluid. Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid is designed
specifically for the tough conditions in the AWD
assembly.
Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF) is a caramel color,
not pink like the previously used A/T fluid. The rear
differential case is also stamped with the letters DPSF,
not ATF.
NOTE: The stamping was a running change and some
early production vehicles have ATF stamped on the
case. Use only Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF) in
these vehicles.
