I took by boys to the dentist earlier today. While waiting, I picked up a copy of PC Magazine. There was a short write-up on the RL:

PROS: Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD): torque vectoring power train that povides extra power to the wheels that need it.

CONS: Cockpit controller needs dozens of adjacent buttons and knobs. "What car is this, again?" styling.

Conclusion: This is Acura's biggest car, but because it's one size below the Lexus LS460 or Mercedes-Benz S-Class, it gets overlooked by buyers who expect flagship cars to be big. The back seat is a bit compact, and the styling is not memorable; you'll probably notice the Acura TL sooner, and it isn't all that much smaller. But few cars will provide as much enjoyment and technical prowess as the RL.

I like that they compared it to the LS460 and S-class instead of the GS and M.

More, of course, because it's a flagship than on merit/cost, but still gives a subtle boost in rank to a casual reader.
