Tail Pipe Dirt

I have a white RL (six months old and 7K miles) and am getting significant greasy black stains around and above the twin tail pipes

Anyone else seeing this (probably won't show on darker colors) or anyone found tail pipe extensions that match well?

Thanks

Yes, we all have it - my car is white too. Just make sure you clean it regularly - if you go too long without cleaning it the stain will get much harder to remove. Clean it even if this is the only part of your car you clean between washes at long intervals. If you wash your car every two or three weeks like I do then you will not have the dirt sticking problem. Acura does have new exhaust tips to clear this problem and I believe they will replace your tips for free if you complain about it. I saw a picture of them installed and I don't like them as well as the originals.

Are the new tips longer or a different shape? I wonder if they are now on the 06 RLs as standard equipment...

It's because the RL runs pretty rich. I wonder if Acura will ever lean out the mixture a tad.. this may also add a horse or two

Smaller, slightly different shape in that they do not flare out as much. I don't know if they are standard equip. on the '06.

I also have a white RL and have the black stains. Haven't cleaned them in about 3 months and they look nasty.

I've always kept a nice thick coat of wax back there and try cleaning it every weekend or whenever I see excess buildup of soot. The rear on our PWP still looks spotless.
