Supercharger for RL

So I was wondering, does anyone here know whether or not there is an aftermarket supercharger available for the RL? I would appreciate any info you can provide.

Is already done for the TL, CL and Accord V6. Is a comptech supercharger.

I'm sure they are already working to fit the RL. You can ask them at:

tech@comptechusa.com

Bitium, thank you very much for information and the pictures. I will contact Comptech today. Can you imagine the output of an RL with a supercharger? Sounds great!

I aksed Comptech yesterday and they have no plans on making one. We should get a shop to make us a custom turbo setup for under 10lbs of boost.

if your serious about one; then a custom setup would be the best...

A custom setup will cost about 20k not to mention you won't have your car for at least 6-8 months. People have no idea what it takes to add F-I.

And the RL is not a tuner car, the aftermarket will be very, very small. It being sold in small numbers won't help either.

I expect maybe some springs/shocks, of course u can put wheels on it, but outside the A-spec kit, your going to have to import some Mugen parts from the Honda Legend.

.
the aftermarket of the RL was bigger than all acura's except the RSX/Integra/NSX before it even came out. Maybe not in the US, but is one of japan's premier aftermarket toy. I'm sure there are many companies developing parts for the RL. The Legend in japan is not marketed as it is in the US.

I dont know what kind of supercharger your planning to buy for 20K but...a friend of mine has a custom FI setup for this vw and it was about 13,000 with installation...

it depends on how much power you want...if you want +80hp then you can spend a lot less..but if you want more power then you will be looking to spend a lot of money because other parts on the car will need to be replaced...

The RL and the newer TL's share the same engine layout. (transversely mounted ) A comptech SC from a TL-S customized may be able to work on the New RL. But of cource you would have to make custom brackets, fittings ect... But it might work. That would be awsome to have a Blown RL.

If anyone does any research on the fit for a supercharger I would be interested.

Anyone looked at the compression ratio of the RL before posing this question?

well the kit is for the TL type-s with a ratio of 10.5:1, so I don't see the problem. Yes a lower ratio s more ideal, but it doesn't mean it wouldn't work with a higher ratio. Btw is only 6psi
