Hi everyone,

I depaxed my RL a while back and so have the leftover rims. I created an account here to sell them, but 5 posts are required in order to post in the marketplace, which is totally understandable (spammers have ruined it for everyone). However, I don't really have 5 posts worth of stuff to say, and I'm sure the mods won't appreciate me making 4 posts about nothing, so....

My question is: does anyone have a suggestion for where *else* I can advertise these rims? My goal is get them into the hands of someone that needs them, not really to make money. Originally I had a bad PAX tire, tried to replace it but the tire's been discontinued. I went to a lot of effort to try to locate a replacement, to no avail, and eventually ended up depaxing and purchased 4 non-pax wheels. I know how hard it is to find these, and how expensive it becomes if you can't find what you need. This is kind of a niche wheel at this point, so probably not many people out there would even be looking. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to reach that subset of users (without posting nonsense here to reach the post requirement, I guess)?

I realize I'm walking a fine line here with regard to not selling things outside of the market. So please don't reply to ask for details about the wheels, as that would then turn this into a thread about selling the wheels, which is against the rules. Apologies if this is still considered out of line - just rather they go to someone that needs them, rather than just disposing of them.

 

Quite honestly, I cannot imagine any Odyssey or RL owner wanting a set of PAX wheels, even if they were free. As you pointed out, there is exactly 0% chance PAX tires will ever be made again, and the number of cars still rolling on PAX tires must have dwindled to nearly zero at this point. If I was in your shoes, I'd probably sell them for scrap given they are made from a fairly high quality alloy they may be worth more to a metal recycler than anybody else.

Regardless of which path you ultimately choose, good luck getting them off your hands.

 

If nobody makes the tyres anymore, then I don't think you're going to find anyone who actually needs the PAX rims. What would they do with them if they can't get tyres for them ?
