Strut life expectency
Strut life expectency
I've searched the forum and can't seem to locate the information I need. I've got about 42K miles on my 05 RL and the two front struts are a little "wet". Three questions: could this be a normal condition and nothing to really worry about; I recall seeing a TSB (or something similar) regardingg 05 strut problems but can't find it - am I dreaming; and lastly, could/should this be covered under the extended and/or CPO warranty? I understand struts are a "limited life item" but the "life" shouldn't be over yet...right?!
Sorry, one more question - if they are bad and I can't convince Acura to cover the repair...what are some suggestions for stock replacements? I have always liked the KYB gas-charged units but don't think there's one made for the model RL I have.
dont worry about it so much! you would be lucky to get 60000 miles on the fronts and the rears about 80000. the a-spec are cheep just grab those comes with springs too. And no KYB does not have anything the best thing you could buy would be some highend Tien .
February 2007 Acura Service News talks about the stuts and how to identify problem vs non problem struts with leaking oil. Does not exactly answer your question unless you have a leaking strut. Then this will help advise what might be a warranty item and what is not.
