stock powertrain
I am going to be taking my car up to Central Florida turbo Orlando Florida to fully build and Turbo Charge my car. Very excited and I will post the progress. I'm going to do some research and call the manufacturer but I was wondering if anybody knew roughly what the stock transmission and powertrain can hold to the wheels with regards to horsepower and torque.

^what you'll run into is tuning. without tuning, I dont see making above 320.
over on the 3rd gen TL side, we've gotten up to 450hp
things start to break at 400, specifically transmission gears, axles, etc.
sweet spot for the 3rd gen TL is about 380-390hp without breaking things.
you will have one more aspect than we do....the SHAWD. the TL doesnt have this, so we dont know how much power the driveshaft will take and at what point it will start breaking
thats why you are the guinia pig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh!! lol, well i expect to be around 500 wheel hopefully on a mild tune around 20PSI. There's going to be alot of custom fab involved. I am really worried about the driveshaft though. CFT (central florida turbo ) has a few tranny guys i might have to take advantage of though. after doing months of searching, i'm surprised that not alot of people have boosted these RL's. They are great cars and im very happy with mine. I did not find any detailed builds of any boosted RL's actually. maybe one terrible video on youtube but i don't think it was even real.

I dont think ANY one has attempted to "turbo" the RL. I believe people have boosted the RL in forms of supercharger, but a turbo is where its at!
I wanted to pick up an RL as a project car to boost it, as I think the AWD is the feature the TL is missing.
but it would have to be an RL that wasnt maintained that I could pick up for like $2k

Yeah mine is fully loaded 2008 and i got it with 65k miles, damn near mint with maintenance papers for like 13grand i think. It was a while ago. I love it. More comfortable than a couple Mercedes I was looking at. Just dont like the indash DVD, kinda out dated badly

A Russian guy put an Evo turbo in his KB1. It's documented here. There is one documented supercharged KB1 as well. There is a UK guy with a DYNO showing close to 300 whp, but he gave no details. We can't be sure it's real.

. The drivetrain is robust, but I'm not sure about 400+ hp.
