A-spec front strut failure

I just brought my 05 RL in for service due to a "rattling" sound over bumps and they informed me that my A-spec front struts need to be replaced. I have had these for 40K miles and was wondering if anyone has had the same issue? I'm not certain how long they should last however the factory set prior to me changing over lasted over 100K. Any thoughts?....

the funny thing about shocks is: there isnt a set "time frame" on how long they can last.

some can last over 100k miles (like your stock set)
and others can blow and start leaking sooner

Like previously said, strut life can vary depending on how hard the car is driven, road conditions, etc. 40k is definitely on the low side but not unheard of.

Btw, you should post pictures of your car. Some inquiring minds here, 007spy in particular, want to see pictures of the Nurburgrings on an RL.

I was just in for clunking over bumps at low speeds - just need new link pins... and I think they did the sway bar too for less than $200... something to consider at that mileage.
