Spare...?

Is the spare a full size spare? Same wheel and tire? Or is it a temp wheel/tire?

In my list of pros vs. cons between the RL and the M35 - Acura loses this one.

The M35 and M35x offers a 18" FSS for $200.
The M35 Sport offers the 19" FSS for $300.

I'll admit that in my previous vehicle I paid extra for the full-size spare and chromed wheel. During the five years I drove the car it never came out of the trunk. So not only did I spend a few hundred extra for it, I also paid for the extra gas to haul it around.

So I'm a bit more philosophical now and consider the lighter space-saver to be a plus. Though by posting this, I've probably just ensured that I'll do something stupid like hit a curb, bend a wheel, and wish I had a matching full-sized spare.

hehe well I hope you dont have any problems.

I realize that the spare usually doesnt come into play for msot but you know what? There are so many things in a car that people do not use yet dont try and justify for or against.

Using your line of thinking (which is fine btw) I bet there's a hundred pounds of stuff in the RL that you, me or anyone don't really need/use that we could get rid of. I just think not having a full size spare is a cheap move for a car of this price/class. Hopefully I never have to sue this temp spare but if I do I will be pissed.

I paid extra for a FSS on my MDX because its the family hauler (especially on Vaccations) and because one would fit. My old TL-S would not really accomodate a FSS (ala new RL). I realy don't not need one for around town driving; where I want a FSS is on that road trip at night miles between towns.
