Agreed wrt to the 07 RL's affecting the sales in Dec. I know of dealers that had demo's until Dec. so it's very possible 07's skewed the sales...... However with the 08 production allegedly ending, inventory is sure to drop..

There is good inventory in the DC area. Except for Annapolis, probably all within a 30 mile radius.

Pohanka, Chantilly, VA - 29 (3 CMBS, 1 base, rest Tech)
Radley, Falls Church, VA - 38 (1 CMBS, 1 base, rest Tech)
Karen Radley, Woodbridge, VA -13 (all Tech)
Rosenthal, Gaithersburg, MD - 29 (1 CMBS, 6 Base, rest Tech)
Tischer, Laurel, MD - does not say
Chevy Chase, Bethesda, MD - 17 (1 base, rest Tech)
Criswell, Annapolis, MD - does not say

Thx for checking Chas2. I'm going to have to check with all those dealers.

The dealers I contact local in NJ and one in PA claimed the website listed cars that were either sold, incoming, hence inaccurate, at least according to the dealers whom I spoke to..

I bought mine at Criswell in Annapolis...my salesman is Scott Staley.

Castle Acura in New Castle, DE was willing to give me same price, but they had the wrong colors.

Don't even call Price in Dover...they are "no Hassle"

I did not have much luck when i was shopping for my 07 MDX with Criswell. They were still asking for $2K over invoice in Sep/07 when the 08's were just about to come out within weeks. I have received good quotes from Turnersville NJ and Montgomerville in PA. But if you are willing to travel down to MD or Northern VA, Pohanka is great to deal with, very professional and no BS.

I bought mine at Pohanka from Omar Omland, and he seemed like a really good guy. I would recommend him. They gave the best pricing and negotiated down from there, but like I said, it was a different time of the year, and different model (06), and Acura seems to have learned by throttling down the supply of RLs over the years.

I bought mine from Pohanka as well. I dealt directly with the sales manager - Tom Brown. He's a good guy, I'd recommend him.

I'm still looking for an 05 or 06...

Does anybody have any good leads on an 05 or 06 in their area that hasn't been in an accident, has the backup sensors (05) or camera (06) and is a good price?

Bill

Talking

geronimomoe, if you end up at Pohanka, just be aware that they charge a $299 processing fee. It's pure profit and you can have them waive that by lowering the sales price by that amount. They did that for me when I initially was looking for a 07 MDX and ended up buying a 08 for $500 over invoice at the end of Sep 07 the first week they were out. No one else was willing to do that and I just used the logic that eventually, they will sell at that price, but they can make a sale today if they were willing to do that today. I was willing to walk but was shocked when they met my price and that's how I ended up with my 08 MDX.

Actually, just so you know, the fee is now 399. This is as of 12/07. I bought on 12/4/07, so they gave me the 299 fee. It's all up to you how you structure your deal.

If I go there, I'll want the entire contract faxed to me first, before I leave for Pohanka. It's almost a 4 hour drive for me....

Thanks for the info about the processing fee though.. It's pure profit... They make money on the holdback......

Smile Geronimomoe - keep looking - Your RL is out there.

After months of looking on cars.com, autotrader.com, and using craigshelper to search through craigslist, I finally found my RL. I originally wanted a black RL with the A-Spec wheels, wood shifter and steering wheel, and backup sensors. I ended up having three RLs inspected since they were all out of the area. The first one was at a dealership in MA. The dealer told me that they knew the guy who owned the car and the rear driver's side door had been hit. Well, upon inspection, I think every panel on the car had been hit, so I passed on that one. The second car that I had inspected was one that I had won on eBay. Again, they told me that it had been hit in the rear and only the bumper had been replaced. The inspection showed that welds had been replaced because it was hit so hard. While the car had been repaired through a body shop from an Acura dealer, I still did not want to own a car that had sustained that much damage.

At the point I decided that any car that had body damage that the owner told me about or I found out about from CarFax was not the car for me.

Good luck with your car search.

Thx! That's the way I'm looking at it, and I hope you and I are right! I've waited this long, so there is no sense in rushing now.

I was joking (well 1/2 joking) with the sales mgr at the dealer close to my office that I was waiting for that $4k or $5K rebate, since the 09's are coming out.. Unfortunately for, Acura kept the rebate at $2500 on March 4..... Then they asked if I wanted the GM's car, a tech with 6k miles and a remote start. I said no thanks.

He was semi-offering $41-42k. Plus, it has a remote start and the front bumper had a nick. I went to see the car again and the nick was gone. So they repainted the bumper. I also took a look at the interior and the driver's seat, seat back middle cushion's leather didn't look all that great, as if some liquid got onto it.. I'm tempted to go to take another look at the car, just to be sure..

Also, the thing with the remote start is, if I'm not mistaken, Acura does not have a remote start kit. Hence, it's after market. If so, I'm stuck with that dealer for any warranty electrical work, if any has to be done. I don't like that.

Right now, I'm thinking that car is worth roughly $38K. I could be off, but I suspect, not by much.

Well, I have an update.

After much thought and debating with myself, I decided to get the new G35x with sport package, premium package, trunk net, mud guards. The car before tax/tags/fees was $34,995, with the 1.9% finance.

That being said, I have to pass for now, being part of this elite group of RL owners, which all you folks are in. Believe me, it wasn't an easy decision to make....

Thx GoHawks! Yeah, it's a very nice ride.. The throttle is a bit sensitive so I have to get used to it. But other than that, no complaints!
