Slight Play in Left Side Steering

Had my 06 RL in for its biannual road safety inspection the other day. My mechanic (independent garage that knows Hondas and Acuras well but has probably never seen any RL's other than mine since there are so fer of them around here) was saying he noticed a slight bit of play in the steering linkage on the driver's side, he originally thought it might be the control arm but when he unhooked it the same slight play was still there. It wasn't enough to fail the safety but he told me to keep an eye on it.

Car has about 60K miles on the odo. What kind of repair options would I be looking at if this gets worse?

There was a TSB about steering wheels being a tad loose ... noticable after alignments.
