Simple question on floor mats

I'm looking to get replacement floor mats for my RL for easy maintenance. I'm looking at the Weathertech all-weather rubber mats. Does everyone just pick up whatever's on sale, or do you look for ones specific fitted to the 2nd gen RL (like including holes for the position hooks at the bottom)?

Speaking of Weathertech, anyone know if their side window deflectors/vent shades fit well with the door window channel? I used their products on my 1st gen RL, and they fit well.

I have OEM all-weather floor mats in my RL and MDX but just some rubber ones I got at Sears for 50% off in my son's Camry. I had Sears mats in my Volvo before the RL. The Sears ones fit "good enough" but the rear mats do tend to ride up under the front seats. If, when the time comes I don't replace my OEM mats with OEM, I'll most likely get Weathertech. Sears has them 50% off quite frequently making them very inexpensive. Get a set and see how you like them. If you don't, just return them.

Of course the OEM are pretty nice. Try Hondacuraworld.com $3.95 handling, free ship, and a sponsor.

Weather tech mats are semi custom, and not that great a protection from overall coverage.

The OEM rubber mats are burly, thick, and durable. And of course, they fit like a glove so I highly recommend them.

I was thinking about going the weathertech route too but never found a local vender, so i could sample the texter and feel, so i end up getting the OEM black all-weather mats & think they are GREAT!

OEM is better than WeatherTech for fit and looks. WeatherTech is soft and pliable and holds an amazing amount of liquid, like a spilled McD coke. What I do not like about WeatherTech is the semi custom (i.e., not close fit) which results in a stripe or two of very dirty carpet over time.

Take it from one who has bought WeatherTech for 5 cars. I actually ended up buying Husky mats for my last used car when the WeatherTech wore out, and for a cheaper price, and functionally equivalent, had no issues. The WeatherTech usually wears out after about 4 years where the drivers right heel rests.

If you want low price, WeatherTech is not the way to go. Kind of like the Sears equivalent lland talks about. The custom WeatherTech ought to be good, but they do not make customs for a lot of older cars, or low volume cars like the RL.

That is IT!!!

First he goes offroad with his RL...

THEN he leaves the dash all dusty,,,

NOW he grimes and heelmarks the carpet!

I am calling Torrence! You sir, have crossed the LINE!

Turn over your keys NOW unless you prefer to be locked in fully mirrored room with Dave Marek.

I think I will go with the OEM floor mats, although I wish they were available in gray instead of just black or ivory. I think the description said the floor mats can be hooked on using the "position retention pin" openings. That sealed the deal for me - well, that along with the good price from hondacuraworld.com ($30 cheaper than my dealer and only $10-15 more than the Weathertech)!

On the secondary item, does anyone know if the OEM door visors/side window deflectors are in-channel (not tape-on)? I know the Weathertech are of the in-channel type, but I'm not quite sure about the OEM ones (at least, I think they're OEM - it's the listing on hondacuraworld.com

OEM all the way! I recently was in your position, but have no regrets going OEM. Buy through one of the discount dealers. Got mine from Findlay.
