Scuff marks on dash
Scuff marks on dash
No luck with the search engine so I'll just ask if anyone has tried to repair scuff marks on the curly maple dash trim. I noticed a few light areas on the dash that wouldn't rub off. Upon closer inspection it looks like a scuff mark. Only on the surface since you can't feel it if you rub your finger over it.
I don't want to make it worse by trial and error so I wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with this. TIA

The clear on the wood veneer is softer than car paint clearcoat so I would not recommend Scratch X or similar for body scratches. If it is not a surface scuff (into the clear), try using a mild cleaner polish and work your way up to a cutting polish.
Perhaps start off with something simple like SoftScrub.
I would also seal the results with a sealer product having UV protection as the scuff and polishing repair may compromise the clear's UV protection. FWIW I use Aerospace 303 on my wood trim and have minimal scratches and no fade from UV.

^^^ Online: Just about everyone, Autogeek, Amazon, Ebay....
Locally I have found it in ACE Hardware.
It is SPF 40 and is good on most everything, vinyl, plastics, leather, weather trim, tires and headlight lenses. I discovered it in the TL forum when dealing with my former 3G TL black dash hazing.

Thanks for the replies. So far I tried the eraser and also the detailer spray but it had no effect so the abrasion must be in the clear coat. I'll try the polish route Tampa mentioned and hope for the best.
