Rough Idle after PCM TSB

Like a lot of you, my car is idle-ing rough after the TSB for PCM was done. I remember seeing some posts about this same issue, but don't remember what the fix is. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Yep - mine was idling a little rough before the TSB, and is still a little rought after the dealer applied the TSB. The dealer told me this TSB would fix it.

I wonder if I should tell them NOT to apply that specific TSB....?

VP911, if your car is ideling nicely now, I wouldn't have it done. My car was ideling so smooth and quiet, you couldn't even tell it was on, now, it's a little rough - nothing major, but a little rough - wish I hadn't done it

On the other hand, I believe it was the PCM update that improved the transmission shifting which I found to be a very good change.

Have not encountered any rough idling either before or after this or other updates. Wonder if the rough idle is related to something else. I would take it back in and have it looked at rather than just not having the PCM update done.

I think there may be a learning cycle needed to correct this.

On my Service Invoice it reads:

PCM Update

1255A2 ECM/PCM - Reprogram S/B# 05-007, S/B# 05-027
122505 Crankshaft Position (CKP) Pattern Learn
- Drive Vehicle in the Cycle Specified in the Service Manual

ASP - great info!

I guess it's back to the dealer for me...

You may want to think twice about TSB 05-022 too. It's nice that my XM radio info comes up quicker, but now I receive no NAV Traffic! The dealer is requesting I bring the car back to replace the Acuralink control module again. I've been on the phone with XM and they assure me their systems are working fine, that they are broadcasting NAV traffic to my radio ID.

The last time this took three days! This is getting old. . .

Your dealer likely forgot to reactivate the traffic subscription. Common problem.

Having similar issues. I just called XM and they told me that, they can't active my Nav Traffic. It needs to be done by the dealer. Just wondering if this is true. Does anyone had similar issue?

I lost my XM service and ended up calling XM myself and selected the dealer option at the voice prompt. After I explained that the radio and traffic services had been working up until a few days ago, the guy I talked to was very helpful and was able to activate both features. I got the usual "wait 20 minutes" spiel but had both services back within 5 minutes. He also reset my service to that day, so I ended up getting a free 4 month extension. The traffic data seems to be slow to show up (takes 15 minutes after I start the car), but the radio info is immediate. I have not had the TSB upgrades yet and am considering leaving well enough alone-the traffic data delay is not a big deal, since it takes me 20 minutes minimum to get near the freeway anyway. The tranny firmware fix is a bit more of a debate for me-I would like to get better response from the tranny, but not at the expense of engine idle smothness. I'm not considering the OnStar upgrade, since I never use the service anyway.

15 Minutes to get the traffic data? How useless is that? I need to make decisions on which way to go when I get in the car and exit the parking lot, not when I'm half way home :-)

Is this the same for everyone?

I had the same "no subscription" problems after the TSB. No radio and no nav traffic. After several phone calls to XM and the dealer, radio was working and nav was not. Got on the phone with my regional XM rep to troubleshoot the nav problem and he concluded that the car needed to go back to the dealer to swap the unit again.
Since that transpired on a Friday, I decided to wait until Monday before calling the dealer and the nav stuff magically started working again on Saturday. So, all in all, it took 3 days to get nav traffic working again.

I posted this info somewhere on this board before.
