RL spare on eBay for de-PAXers

First off, this is not my ad. Just throwing this out there for anybody that has de-PAXed and is looking for a spare. These don't come around too often so hop on it if you need one. Buying one new from Acura will put you out over a grand.

I think he means the yellow alloy spare isn't worth as much as a Vossen. I thought the spare was only ~$400 on oemparts. Are you talking about the whole tie down setup too?

Plus the tire is $263 so maybe not a grand...

Why is the tire that much? A 17"x5" generic practically bike tire costs more than a 17"x8" UHP tire?

Really, as a tire guru, does that make sense?

For the most part, it's a vehicle specific application that's produced in low quantities. Look at OEM tires, they're almost always more expensive than aftermarket tires.

I suppose I figured there would be ten million 17" donuts out there given all of Japanese cars that use them. That just seems absurd and worth searching through every junk yard in America. I know of one in great condition in Austin.

Important clarification.... You can use OEM lugnuts or aftermarket lugnuts DESIGNED FOR THE NON-PAX RL.

The spare from the 2005-2008 is designed to be used with the flat washer lugnuts that are used on the non-pax RL. The PAX RL uses the acorn lugnuts which will NOT seat properly on that spare. Very important to keep this in mind. It's not really an issue if you already de-paxed with wheels that use the flat washer lugs. But if you are still on the PAX or de-paxed to wheels that don't use the flat washer lugs, then you need to buy and keep 5 of those lugs with the spare.

Hope this helps.

That's what I meant. I didn't de-Pax (yet) but I did get a spare, just in case, and had to buy five flat lug nuts to use with the spare.

Thanks for adding that. I forgot the PAX wheels don't use the shank style lugs with washers. My car had A-Spec wheels on it when I bought it so I already had the proper lugs.
