RL or Infiniti M35X?
My lease is up on my TL at the end of April. I need a new set of wheels- the RL is at the top of my list, but the M35X is a close second. One problem is that lease rates for the RL are ridiculously high right now. I can lease the fully loaded M35X- less the rear entertainment center which isn't an option on the RL- for $675-$700/month. RL lease is much higher- apples to apples comparison- no money down, 15K miles/year, same bank fees, tax included in figures.
If I were to buy the RL- partly because I'm a loyal client to a local dealer- the cost would be a little less for an RL with a technology package- equivalent of Infiniti. If I were to forego the advanced technology package from the M- upgraded sound system with 5.1 DVD-A and some other toys the RL has- the purchase price would be about the same.
I'm leaning towards leasing, but if there was a dramatic difference in the cost of the 2 cars-like there was when the 2006 RL had a $4000 manufacturer's rebate I'd buy the RL. Does anyone know if there are any lease deals on the RL coming up in the next 2 months, or deep discounts on the 2007 RL like the 2006 RL?
I currently have 2 Acuras- MDX is the other- and like the dealer, service people, and would like to get the RL- decision is tough though. If I lease again it'll be for 37 or 42 months so I can get the next car at end of the summer or in the fall when car prices are usually lowest.
Thanks in advance everyone!

The specs are similar, but if I had to live with one for 36 months it would have to be the RL. I haven't looked that closely at the Infiniti in person. Judging from the pics, it doesn't quite measure up. I think after I got over the new car euphoria with the Infiniti, I'd be thinking "Only 35 more months", and buyer's remorse would set in.

This comes up very often. This specific discussion often turns awful on this forum for some reason even though the M35x is a great competitor to the RL, and is currently winning the sales race over both it and the Lexus GS350 AWD.

Just for grins, a thread on the Lexus GS, the RL's other direct Japanese competitor.
