Relay Locations - Radiator Fan and Condenser Fan

2005 Acura RL

I cannot find the location of the relays for the Radiator Fan and the Condenser Fan. I have scoured these forums and the rest of the web. For most similar cars, the TL and the Accord, the relays are easily located in the under hood fuse box. I guess since the RL has so many extra bells and whistles, these relays found a home someplace else - but where? There is nothing in the user manual that addresses any relays at all, just fuses.

For reference I have linked to a photo of my underhood fuse box to show that the relays do not live there.

I am troubleshooting an overheating issue where the fans turn intermittently, slowly, or not at all when the temp gauge starts to rise. I have several other things checked off the list, I need to replace these relays since they are the most likely culprit at the moment. I have tested the fan motors directly and they function properly.

Thanks -

There are relays located in the driver footwell, left side. It’s all in the owners manual.

#15 SHOULD be the relay you're looking for. There's an auxiliary relay box with a few relays in it. Look for one in the engine bay that has a cover (#3)

Thank you for trying to help, but both of those statements are incorrect.

Thank you, this led me to the correct relay. I tested it, it worked fine. I moved forward with replacing the thermostat and radiator cap, and that did the trick. Odd that one of those would keep the rad and condenser fans from operating properly, but it did. Now the fans are firing predictably at warmer temps and when the AC is on.

Relay locations are are all in my manual. Driver side footwell has a relay bank. How are these statements incorrect?

Since I just got done tearing min apart and actively troubleshooting for a few days, I can just go by my own eyes.

On my 2005, there is a relay bank in the driver side footwell. It does not contain radiator or condenser fan relays. In my manual, the fuse box diagrams are present and the fuses are labeled, but the relays are not labeled, they are left blank. The relay bank that I was made aware of by thoiboi was between the air filter housing and the driver side fender contains a radiator fan relay and it is not mentioned or pictured anywhere in my manual.

If your manual and car are different from mine, that would be odd, but i guess it's within the realm of possibility. Maybe a different model year?
