Rear Seat Removal

At some point, I'm going to need to run some power and A/V cables into the trunk. I hope I can get the access I need by only removing the rear seat cushion, and not the seat back.

On other Honda/Acuras, I remember removing couple of bolts between the cushions, and then lifting the bottom out. Has anyone removed the RL's rear seat cushion or back? Any pointers on what needs to be done?

Thanks for any help.

Release the seat belt (A) from their guides (B).

Remove the rear center seat belt and rear seat belt buckles. note: I usually just pull the center belt all the way out and go around the seat with it.

Remove the bolts from the base of the seat-back (A).

Disconnect the power head restraint connector (B).

Lift the seat-back (A) up to release the wire loops (B) from the hooks (C) on the body, then remove the seat-back.

Install the seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

Guide the belts over the front of the seat-back as you install it.

Before attaching the rear seat-back and cushion, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belts.

When installing the seat cushion, slip the seat belt buckles through the slits in the seat cushion.

I like your user name. I met the real one the moonwalker at our elementary school of the same name. A cool guy...

I assume you are not one in the same. If you are, you gave my son his "graduation" papers.

No relation to the real moonwalker. But I'm sure he would agree the RL belongs in the same class as jet fighters and the Saturn V!

Has anyone removed the rear seat to do the A-Spec strut install? I've only seen one post about it...
