Rear power sunshade

How is it not opening /closing smoothly?
Does it catch on the tray? Is it opening unevenly?
It is a simple pully system and hinged arms. Either it is obstructed in some manner or the motor is not operating correctly.

Check the recess tray where the shade rests when retracted. There must be a spot where it is getting caught when raising. Another thought is that there may be felt pads in the tray. This was to minimize rattling or buzzing some RL owners where experienced and a TSB was issued. The felt pad may be catching the shade as well.

I don't think its catching on the tray. Sometimes when i'm lowering it, only one side will go down. Also when i'm opening it, it looks like its having some trouble coming up. Is there any places that might need to be lubed or greased??

If not, obviously it is a dealer fix.

I had this on my 07.. it would go up on 1 side and the other side would get hung up. It happened intermittently.. I had a bigger issue, which was the rattling, so they fixed the rattling by seizing the rollers that press against the window, which really worked well. They told me that "tightened" the rollers so they didn't rattle. I don't really care how they did it, cuz the result was the rattle went away.. It took a lot of services to get it fixed, and a BBB complaint, ride with the manufaturer rep, and like 5 service appointments... But it is fixed and I haven't even thought of it for a few months, since they fixed it, until I read this post..
Wait til your next oil/service or whatever then get an appt for the warranty work, then you can get a loaner car, and at the same time get your service too..
