Damn, had that happen to my 91 Dodge Stealth (Mitsubishi). I remember it did not cost half that to replace. It's quite a bit of work tho.

They are hosing you big time. I had mine done at 77K for $600, the seal itself is like $12. Find a good independent Honda/Acura tech and let him do it, fuck the dealer.

stevieray is right. Many of us here are not NEW Acura owners and have some money for the cars and repairs but are not wealthy, I have an independent mechanic I trust who specializes in Hondas. If my Acura ever needs the dealer, I'm out, just not going, would sooner drive the car into a ditch. I think this is my last Acura. The new ones are just too complicated, and Hondas are not made like they were 10-20 years ago.
