Rear ended!

So I was rear-ended on the freeway last week. Luckily it was a very low speed impact, probably <5mph. It broke the paint in those two areas, I'm guessing it was the guy's license plate bolts. In the body shop now getting fixed. Since the car looks very clean already, it's worth it to get this fixed. Especially since it's absolutely no cost to me.

Note: car was dirty that day due to rains. Normally it's pretty clean so the two marks would stand out like a sore thumb.

Two paint indentations, about the size of a pinky fingernail.

for me; unless the car is in show car condition...which a daily driver that is over 10 years old isnt worth to issue a claim with insurance.

I had parallel parked at a restaurant(s)/bar(s) and had sat in my car getting ready to leave when an obvious drunk guy backed into my car twice..
I got out and told that motherfucker to stay put.
looked at the bumper in the dark and decided to let the motherfucker go.
the next morning, when I inspected the bumper, there were impact spider webs.

I mean...yeah, he bumped into my car...but my car is 12 years old that has seen it's fair shair of rocks and stuff.
I aint trippin, there are far more important things

If I had to pay for this myself, I would think hard about shelling out the money. But in my case, the other guy is paying for it and while my car is not in *perfect* showroom condition, it is actually pretty close.

Another question; does this mean the other party is giving you straight Cash?????

Or are you going through insurance?

No, his insurance is paying for it. I always go through insurance. I'm not going to take the risk of dealing with someone and trying to get cash out of them. In every accident I've had (all of which was not my fault) I always file a claim with my own insurance and get them to do all the legwork. In all of these cases, I've wanted to get the car fixed anyway, so I didn't entertain just taking cash and not fixing it.

All fixed now!

Sorry to read that.

At least its superficial and small damage and you're ok.

The first picture I posted (starting the thread) has two red circles that show the damage. It's pretty tiny. The second picture is the fixed bumper. Yes, the damage was very minor but since my car already looked *almost* showroom condition, and since the other guy's insurance is paying, why not have it fixed? Plus I got two brand new child booster seats. Side note: in any collision, no matter how small, insurance will always pay to have your child seats replaced. They do not want the liability of having potentially damaged child seats in the next accident.

Other than this accident I haven't posted much as nothing has gone wrong with the car. Drives great and feels solid. When people sit in my car they think it's brand new.
