Angry Rear doors will NOT open from inside!

My kids cannot open the doors from inside. I thought the child safety locks were on but they were not. I got in and tried to open them, no go, had to get someone to open them from the outside. WTF! Its always something, First issue I found with my new to me RL. Help.

One of my rear door handles had a cable that snapped on one of the plastic ends and it sounds like the same may have happened to both your doors. This happens when plastic things meet the enthusiasm of children. The best way to verify and fix the problem would be to remove the door panels (easier than it sounds with just a few screws and plastic clips) and inspecting the cables coming from the door handles. I "reattached" my cable to the latch mechanism with a zip tie and some twine. It would help to have an assistant hold the panel in a position where you can easily attach the cable but you can get by without. I'm sure there's a less haggard way to do it, but it works as it did when stock. Plus almost freeyo.

There's more instructions how to remove the door panels on AZ but its pretty much just this for the rear door from what I remember. One screw behind the door handle, one under the ashtray. The plastic clips on the sides just pry free, and at the top a couple pry free and a couple slide vertically.

First off, is the child lock engaged? When engaged, you cannot open the door from the inside, to prevent children from opening the door.
