Rattling sound?

so I've searched around and all I see are either brake pins loose or catalytic converter heat shield being loose. Every time I run over a bump I hear the rear rattling even if I'm pressing on the brakes so I'm guessing its not the brakes. So before I take all the covers off from the underbody of the RL off so see if the problem is there, is there anything else I should also look for? And is it really necessary to put all the covers back on ? Pro vs cons,?

I recall there was a TSB or similar for a rattling heat shield. At my dealer (now at least 8 years ago), they crimped something rather than a whole disassembly and replacement, and it seemed to do the trick. The steering column was also an item that had a vague and hard-to-track rattle back when it was under warranty -- worse when it was hot. These are all quite some time ago, so I don't have too much more info than this.

Where is the sound coming from? The brake sound is from the parking brake which is not engaged during normal driving. If it's coming from the rear, tighten your parking brake cable down.

Am I going to need to remove the covers from the underbody to get to the cables?
