rattle when turning

this just recently starting happening. when the steering wheel is half/fully turned (left or right) and I move forward at low speeds, there is a rattle or metallic clinking sound (not a grinding sound). no noises when going straight forward or slight turns for lane changes.

any ideas?

Yes, sounds like a bad CV joint. Have you inspected the CV boots? More than likely, one (or more) has a cracked rubber boot that has allowed the lubricant to escape and caused the failure. You might also notice traces of the lubricant "sprayed" (from centrifugal force) all over the wheel well, etc.

On another post this same problem has been associated with a loose hand brake cable that just needs tightening. Do a search on Hand Brake.
