Radio / Clock display vanishes / comes back when tapped
Radio / Clock display vanishes during driving. It comes back when tapped on the top of the display.
Looks like some loose connector but no able to find it. It is a nuisance and reflects poor design of 2008 RL

This is most likely your problem. The car is 11 years old with a lot of electronics. This kind of minor failure is expected. Keep in mind the kind of electronic failures that would happen in a similarly equipped German luxury car of that era.
