Question about replacing the A/C stator

I have a replacement stator in hand and I am going to replace it myself on jack stands. Does anyone have an estimate of how long this should take?

Thanks

Answered my own question. It took me 4 hours on jack stands in the driveway. It's a pain in the ass to do without removing the compressor, but quite doable if you're patient. Getting the circles off and properly seated upon reassembly are the things that slowed me down.

One of these days, I'll learn to listen. That said, I have to admit to a great deal of satisfaction when the A/C started blowing ice cold after the fix

For future reference for anyone else who thinks the field coil/stator may be their problem, it's not too difficult with a multimeter to check the resistance of the unit before attempting to remove it. The new stator showed resistance of 1.9 Ohms (within spec) whereas the one on the car showed infinite resistance, a broken winding, presumably. This at least gave me some degree of confidence that the repair could be successful.

Nice, you are very lucky, the dealer did mine and the stator was frozen on to the compressor.....all new compressor assembly...$$$

Are you sure ? Or is that what your dealer told you. It's more beneficial for the Dealer $$$$, just to replace the compressor instead of the Stator
