Hi everybody this is my first time logging in the forum. May I ask if I got a good deal for the 2008 RL technology with A-Spec plus lot of extras (wood grain for shiftknob, floor mats, wheel locks,)? New demo car with 5K miles on it selling for 48K not including my $3400 allowance from 1998 RAV 4 with 96500 miles on it. Dealer is located in Illinois.

IMHO no, but what is important if you are satisfied.

i agree it's def. not a good deal, 1st the car is a demo, could be abused a little maybe not, and 2nd the 09 rl is some weeks away from being introduced so right now the dealers should be letting the 08 go for a steal.. i would say your about 3-4 grand over what u should be paying imo.

Sorry man, you didn't get the best deal.

2008 RL tech (e.g. no CMBS)=$41-42k in most parts of the country
A-Spec package=$1200 body kit on eBay, $2000 for coilovers/wheels on eBay, $1000 for tires, $700-800 labor (I'm lowballing based on my experience--I got a deal as a frequent customer at my dealer)--->$5k total

Total=$46-7k.

So you paid about a $2k premium. However, these numbers only apply to a NEW car with all this stuff. This one was used.

Sorry for the delay response but thanks to your feedbacks, I'm just doing a mock shopping and did not feel good about it. My initial offer was 45K minus 3400 trade in =41600 but dealer refused. I'm just gonna wait for 2009 model. As of right now I'm just gonna suck it up for a while driving the RAV4. I owned a 2007 RDX (but my wife use it for the baby) as it is the only one with the child seat.
