I know the controls and plastic covers are the same but are the seats essentially the same?

can I take a good passenger seat and swap the controls over and install as a driver's seat?

other then the controls the seats appears to be identical to me. has anyone ever tried to swap them out?

 

There any issues with seatbelt or airbags?

Where did you get that microfiche? I searched all over for one.

Is 21 the seat frame and 19 the seat cover or is 21 the drive seat and 19 the passenger?

Hell if i can just buy a replacement cover that would be great

 

What about just the seat cover? Could i take a good seat cover from a passenger seat and put it on the drivers?

Depends, if we have side airbags then no. Pretty sad I dont recall if we do but if we do then no.

You are correct. $800 just for the bottom seat cover?
Looks like I will be going to the upholsterer soon.

I only need the seat bottom for the driver's side.
I figured the left and right would be the same.

 

This is what I was thinking. Can anyone confirm for the 2005 RL?
I can see the back support being different but I wouldn't think the bottom would be different.

 

What about just putting on nice seat covers? Any known good ones out there?
I was quoted $800-$1,000 for both front seats reupholstered....not going to do that but need to do something with the leather cracking like it is.
