Oxidized Door Paint?

Oxidized Door Paint?
So my dads 05 RL had some oxidation around the passenger side door handle. The dealership repainted it nicely but now he's noticed the drivers side is doing the same thing in the same exact spot. Is there any record that there was anything wrong with the paint during this year? Or is this just a weird coincidence.
