Question Our cars great security..

Hello all!
I got an 2008 Rl . One day I got bored and decided to see what would happen if I left my car running , took the keyfob back home and left it there. After which time I simply got back into car and drove away without keyfob... to my amaze there was no power interaption except for little annoying beep..

Now is this normal, no security ??

Help

Normal. Just like leaving keys in it and leaving it running, then walking away. Don't shut if off though. You won't be able to restart it without the fob (not like leaving the keys in it).

As much as it may seem like a hole in security, LL is correct in comparing it to a normal key. What would happen if you were driving down the highway and your fob battery died? Or if your argument is something about being parked, what if you were parked, the fob died, and you needed to move the car quickly (avoid a crash or something)? It is more helpful than detrimental IMHO.

i can't lock my doors while the car is on! is there a way? i thought the only way to lock door while car is on is having an aftermarket alarm/remote start in vehicle.

The RL is keyless, I haven't ever used my key except for testing its functionality when it was new. Just leave the fob in your pocket and open it with a touch to the inside of the door handle and lock it with the handle dimple.

If the car is on then I assume that you are driving it? The doors should be locked by one of the following 3 methods. You may program it to lock after rolling, when you come out of park or manually.

If I want to leave it running, I roll down the drivers side window. take the fob out, get out of the car, shut the door, stick my hand through the window, lock the door, and hit auto up on the window while pulling my hand out of the car quickly. Car still running but locked and I still have fob in my possession. Problem solved LOL

I did on my way out the door. No, you cannot lock the car from the outside while it is running. You can unlock it though. So, L's method will work.

I checked the lock via fob and key. The unlock works with both.

Do you do all of this for a reason or is this act part of a show?

It won't do it. I tried. Legend #1 would. It also had a feature that would immediately unlock it if the car was off and the key was in the ignition.

Like I said, it will unlock but won't lock.

Guys you can lock the door while the car is on..

1. Turn the car on.
2. close your drivers door
3. Remove the key from the fob
4. Insert the key in lock and twist.
5. Door is locked and car still remains on.
6. To unlock door simple walk up to car and it unlocks normally.
I do this every morning when i decide to war my car up outside.

My car wouldn't do it. I tried. I'm not lying or confused. I turned it right, it unlocked. I turned it left, it didn't do anything. I even had my window down and watched the lock while I turned it.

Mr. Tea, what year & package is your car?

This feature has saved me one time.

I was dropping off my girlfriend at the airport once. En route, it was colder than expected so she put my jacket on. My fob was in the pocket of the jacket. I dropped her off at the terminal. By the time I was back in the car and got the warning message, she had already walked off and couldn't hear her phone (I couldn't run after her because security wouldn't let me leave my car at the curbside terminal). I had to use the 2nd fob until she got back a few weeks later.

I think Acura recognizes that unlike a regular key, the fob can get relocated out of the car even while it is on. So the car stays on and this is a good thing.

Its a show, I forgot to mention the 29 clowns I have in the trunk that pop out while its running. I like to keep them warm.

I do this if I want to warm the car up on a cold day or something.

Yea if I try to use the fob to lock the car while its running nothing happens, if I use the key it locks then unlocks back right away.
