ordered sherwood dash inserts....

ordered sherwood dash inserts....

i ordered the oem real wood add on for my rl and it does not match too dark. i called sherwood dash. they said that the inserts will lighten up over time to match the car inside. has anyone had the same problem wtih stick on wood for RL. what should i do?

If it were me, I'd return it.

It may lighten "over time", but how old will you be when that finally happens? And if it's going to lighten, why won't the other wood also lighten the same amount, leaving them still different?

Send it back.

I would doubt the wood would lighten up over time if is has any type of sealed finish on it. I went with a wood kit off eBay and really like the look of it. The wood match was better than the shifter I purchased from Acura. The kit came with inserts for the radio which I did not use. I did use the pieces for the area around the shifter (I did not cover the chrome part) and the cup holder. The seller on eBay I purchased from was Carimage and they currently have the same kit I purchased for sale on eBay. They are also some pictures on their auction item.

I would send the parts back if they don't match to your liking.
