Arrow one of the biggest sources of dash rattle revealed!!

I found one of the biggest sources of a rattle in my 05 RL, it occurs on the highway at high speads and sounds like a distant baby rattle. You can also sort of simulate it by pounding on the top of the dash a little with your fist just above the glovebox. then while you are still lightly pounding on the dash and faintly hearing the rattle. touch the enter nob in the center of the console and the rattle goes away. I am road testing somemore to verify!!!

I heard the same thing this morning driving to work. I have to get this fixed, its the only annoying thing in the car... The rattle just showed up a few weeks ago in the car.

There were some "workarounds" but I can't seem to find them on the site. Can anybody provide a "fix". I am going to the dealer for an oil change and also to fix the rattle.

Not too confident on them fixing the rattle, so I am willing to test a fix. Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, this car rocks.....

Yeah I got that rattle too after hitting a pothole. I hear a popping sound with the glovebox closed, but it is fine with it open. I also have another one behind the rpm gauge.

I bought 2 new wheels and tires and still have a slight vibration in a 16 oz/. Aquafina bottle if sitting in the cup holder. I believe they made the tolerances too tight and anything out of adjustment will make things rattle.

Most of my dashboard area rattles are around air vents and are made worse when cooling a lot ( live in Austin TX so it gets hot here). I suspect many hard plastic parts shrink and/or become less pliable in the cold air and make any noise worse.

Anyone else think the glovebox is a cheap piece of junk? It closes like a tupperware box fer cryin out loud. Really, Honda should buy an Audi and see how they make things feel S O L I D. I'm not surprised there are glove box related rattles. Thankfully mine is quiet so far. Do you have your manual jammed in that upper compartment? I do. Perhaps it squeezes stuff in place?

Has anybody gotten this item fixed? The dash rattle is annoying. I have an appointment with the dealer next week.

I am going to drive with the tech so he can hear the noise & rattle.

I am curious to see if anybody got it fixed.

Thanks
