Old Member, New to the RL Side

Used to have a 3g TL a few years back that I loved, until a lady with no brake lights slammed on her brakes. Many years and cars later I now have a black 2005 RL. Got an amazing deal on it, it just needs some little things replaced. One of those things is the navi screen is blank but kinda backlit in the corner I think. DO I just buy a new screen from a junkyard? Also what are peoples go to first mods non-performance for these 2g RL's?

There are a number of documented nav screen issues in the nav/electronics sub-forum. Search for "screen", "blank screen", or "black screen" in the "search this forum" tab.

Most common mods are wood steering wheel, wood shift knob, and Aspec lip kit. The wheel and knob are discontinued, but you can find them used, on eBay or from other cars. Again, a search will help you.

Welcome.

Sorry to hear your method of entry, but welcome into the RL sub-club.

You'll find most of the people here love their RLs. Great as the TL is, I think you'll quickly find your RL a more luxurious experience overall, and the charms of SH-AWD (I don't know whether your TL had it) only grow on you with time. For that matter, so do those of the entire car.

Enjoy!
