2. If you do go Hyundai, I'd call in advance and set an appointment. The sales guys are taught how to sell Accents, not Genesis(es)...
When I was considering the 08 lease I still had 3 lease payments left and had not received my letter from Acura stating they would waive the remainder of payments. The residual was 47% 36 month, 12K miles with a money factor of 4%. With a net capitalized cost of $41520 ($4000 under invoice) the payment was ~690/month with 2 lease payments thrown in. There are new lease variables out today and I may revisit the 08 lease again. The 09 lease is 52% residual with money factor of ~6.5%. Even if they drop the price to invoice, lease payment works out to about $785/month. Again, these variables may be different as I was told by dealer that new ones are available today. My 05 lease had a residual of 59%, that's what we'll never see again on an RL.

Nice review Bob, not many changes to justify an upgrade.... and I MAY be the only one that likes the new grill.

This blows my mind. A full model year (and MMC to boot) yields 4% (or 5% in your case) bump on residual? Geez.

This actually isn't much higher than the RL when it came out in 2004. Mind you, it dropped significantly (into the 500s for a 2005 by end of model year 2005), but it's very high.

For $785/month (I'm assuming + tax) I can get a BMW 535i.

On the other hand, who is going to actually pay $50k+ for this when there are many other vehicles in the same price range...

Sooo.. I finally saw the 09' RL in person and I truly, really think some of you guys are crazy or in denial !! the car doesn't look bad AT ALL! In person has much more presence and looks more upscale than any other Acura so far!
I saw a white and a jade silver, in person the grille doesn't look big or small, just right and it flows very well with the more substantial design! you gotta be kiddin'! There was a preowned 07' BMW 5 series in the lot and it looked kind of feminine compared to the RL..

You know I just went onto their respective sites to get an idea of what you're talking aboutm and damn you're right. When placed side by side the new RL does look mean, and masculine.

Imagine if the masculine RL had sex with the feminine BMW what the puppies would look like. They might be better than Labradoodles! I wonder how many gears they would have and what the hybrid iDrive would be like?

Evolution is driven by mutations. That looks like it has an awesome turning radius, and with a sharkfin like that one the XM reception must be outstanding!

Sorry Bob, I just couldn't resist but I think the Le Car may have outsold the RL so it isn't a fair comparison.

How about the Renault Fuego turbo?

That's too funny!! One of my best friends had a Fuego turbo!! Almost as rare as the RL!! We used to call it Del Fuego. We actually had a lot of fun with that car in our early 20s in college. Haven't heard it referred to in YEARS.

hey I didn't say it was gorgeous or anything but it does look more manly. Kinda like an American brute vs them German wussies

I can't shake the feeling that the RL looks to be something designed out of a cadillac, chrysler, or gm studio

Jeez man! Too funny! We are obviously aging ourselves as we even remember these cars in the first place.
