Odd air leak sound when driving

About three weeks ago my '05 RL started a strange air leak sound coming from the engine area. I can't seem to pinpoint it because it only does it when it's being driven. Literally sounds like air leaking from a tire or something like that (the tires haven't dropped any pressure). It doesn't start until I reach approx 35-40mph, then if I slow to 15-20mph it takes on a higher pitch for a quick second, then stops. Odder still is if I don't reach 35-40mph it doesn't start. But once I have gone over 35-40 it will always start up again between 15-20mph. At first I thought it was the belt, so I sprayed some silencer on it, but no change (well, the belt is a little quieter now ) I'm not sure if there are any vacuum operated components in the engine bay.

Everything seems to be working though. MPG is still the same and no ill effects on the power either. I've read the problems with the A/C and various drivetrain parts, but it's all working (knock on wood) and no other noises are apparent. Thankfully it's not too loud - the radio easily masks the sound for now

Any ideas?
