where would silicone come from. Some talk of RTV silicone being the cause.

And I strongly advise against going the Bosch route, our J series engines don't seem to work well with the Bosch O2 sensors and there have been numerous reports across the site of them failing shortly after replacement. Stick with NTK/Denso

I'd like to also confirm that changing the O2 sensor is like curing a sick car from the cold. car feels happy and upbeat again. It's quite noticeable.
