O2 Sensors

Are those changed in pairs? Does it matter?

And anyone knows what brand is the OEM one?

Usually if you do the upstream or down stream you do them as a pair and I believe factory sensors were Denso

Is it ok to put in a different brand? The Denso's aren't the pricier either. The NTK seem to be more popular and higher in price.

BOSCH is what I used when I was throwing codes and have no problems with them

Anyone knows if an O2 sensor comes out this color what it means? I’m unable to decipher whst’s Written online about that.

Online it says silicone poisoning.

where would silicone come from. Some talk of RTV silicone being the cause.

Whst’s RTV silicone, where is it used and by who. I don’t recall putting any silicone anywhere near fuel related stuff...

All i did was google, "white o2 sensors" and this is what I found: https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forum...Number=1158299





And I strongly advise against going the Bosch route, our J series engines don't seem to work well with the Bosch O2 sensors and there have been numerous reports across the site of them failing shortly after replacement. Stick with NTK/Denso

^I agree, I don't recommend Bosch with Japanese cars. I would go with Denso.

Yea I had seen that page actually. Most discussed silicone poisoning then the last one said all sensors he pulled looked white

Yeah well as much as I like Bosh and always used it on my beemers and Audi, I prefer Japanese made stuff for this first Japanese car of mine. I did go NTK they seem to be both together with Dento making for OEM. And my plugs are NJK which I think is the same company

I'd like to also confirm that changing the O2 sensor is like curing a sick car from the cold. car feels happy and upbeat again. It's quite noticeable.

My kick-down is pushing like a rocket again.

I went and rechecked my order for my O2 sensors and I actually ordered Denso and not Bosch
