We have an '07 of October '06 build and no shark fin. The salesman told us that OnStar was switching to a digital system from analog and that it would return for '08.

I was bored and was looking at RL's on eBay. I noticed the shark fin is back for the '08 and no significant changes compared to '07.

Funny, I have the 08 brochure, and guess what? No shark fin, except one picture on the last page on opposite the inside cover. It is almost as if they forgot to photoshop it out!
Of course, I did notice that the version on ebay is without navi, so maybe it is still a base version only item?

That's an interesting decision by Acura...yet again. lol
Makes things even more confusing. And you'd think more expensive models would get it instead of the base model. But then, it serves no purpose now since it no longer has the OnStar...

why does anyone need the antenna
If you don't NEED the antenna. I mean if you get all you need without the stupid fin, then why do you need it? It doesn't add any value to the car.
