Night Vision

Anyone think night vision will come to the RL in this gen? The new Honda Legend has it, pretty good feature, I know the high end Caddys have it, just wondering if we'll see it in the US RL

I'm pretty happy with the feature set of the current RL. Wouldn't have minded if they had added "cooled seats" like the Canadian version though. I would have paid an extra $100 for that. How does the night vision work??

The Canadian version has cooled seats, but the U.S. version doesn't? How much sense does that make?

After some actual "practice" in Japan, the "updated" version of this feature may be applied to US model when Acura tries to do some minor "update" in the middle of the generation. IMHO.

It's not the necessary option for ppl but "new" RL with it would be a wonderful.

Once they're done testing out the bugs on the nav sys. as well as the laser guided cruise control (for fear of how litigious the US culture can get), we'll see them here.

The night vision system is not the only thing the RL does not have. BTW the honda Night vision system is by far more advance than the cadillac. It uses vector shaping to distinguish between people, animals and other heat emitting objects. It also calculates how far the objects are and in what direction they are traveling. It will also cancel out heat emitting objects like other car engines, street lights, etc.

Honda Intelligent Driver Support System wich includes:

LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist System) recognizes the vehicle lane using the images from a C-MOS camera mounted inside the upper front windshield, and applies the appropriate input to the EPS (Electric Power Steering)*2 to help keep the car in its lane.

IHCC (Intelligent Highway Cruise Control)*3 uses information from a millimeter-wave radar mounted inside the front grill to measure the distance to the vehicle ahead, while vehicle speed and yaw rate sensors detect the vehicle’s driving parameters. In addition to maintaining a set speed, this cruise control system is also able to automatically regulate vehicle speed and distance relative to a vehicle ahead traveling in the same lane.

Not in the us either:

CMS (Collision Mitigation brake System) + E-pretensioners* work together to predict rear-end collisions and reduce impact on occupants and vehicle damage. The system uses visual and audio warnings to prompt the driver to take preventative action. It can also initiate braking to reduce vehicle speed. The E-pretensioners retract the seatbelts in anticipation of a collision to hold the driver more securely in place.

Honda's NEW "INTELLIGENT" NIGHT VISION !
http://world.honda.com/HDTV/Intelli...tVision/200408/

I guess this would probably self-destruct when driving around Manhattan due to overstimulation.

Speaking of overstimulation, I've beeen meaning to try giving the command to the NAV "nearest chinese restaurant" when in the middle of Chinatown, just to see what happens when every single address IS a chinese restaurant.
