I've been trying to identify a new rattle in my '05 RL. It began a few weeks ago and before scheduling an appointment at the dealer, I thought I would check here for any information that is out there.

The rattle seems to be coming from the driver's side, rear wheel well. You could even call it a squeak, rather than a rattle. It could be coming from a shock absorber or a spring since it is most prominent when I travel over bumpy, un-even roadway.

Any thoughts or information on this latest rattle/squeak would be appreciated.

 

there is a tsb 05-021 involving the brakes, im having the same problem and it only rattles going over bumps sometimes but not all the same.the dealer is taking care of it this week for me. this is due to play between the pad and the the caliper. get it checked out and get a print out of the tsb.
