I just bought an 05 nighthawk black/ebony interior and after 3 days of owning it so far I LOVE IT!
It has all the gadgetry that my 2001 Audi S8 had without all the headaches so far. I picked it up with 48K miles and the car is clean through and through.
I do have a quick question though regarding the warranty. Obviously it is going to expire soon and I would like to take it to the dealer and have them inspect the car and make sure there are no issues. Is there any easy way to do this without pointing out an actual problem or do I have to say I have a specific issue before they will look at it?

I would tell the dealer you want to make sure all the TSB's and recalls have been performed on the RL.
You may want to look into getting an extended warranty before you exceed the 4 year 50K mi. Depending on how long you plan on keeping the vehicle, the emission components start giving out at around 70K. Bottom line, if you have to replace anything major, you will wish you had the warranty.

I'm also looking into picking up a 05 RL still in factory warranty so I can extent it. About how much does it cost to get a full factory extended warranty? What is the longest you can get a extened warrenty from acura bumper to bumper for is it 7years 100k or 8 years 120k?
If you dont mind me asking how much did the 05 with 48k miles set you back?

My car is new (or was) so I didn't get an extended warranty. Maybe another member with some experience with extended warranties can answer your questions.

I bought my '05 from a dealer. I purchased the factory extended warranty for about 950. I believe that they also require that the car be certified to be eligible for the factory warranty.

I bought an extended warranty for my '06 even though I purchased the car new. With all the electronics, I felt it was a good investment.
As far as the car being certified....Acura offers "used" warranties for cars older than 6000 miles. I bought an extended warranty for my 3G TL when it had 48k miles on it, and no certification process was required.
BTW, welcome to the exclusive club of RL owners.
