New Member 2005 Acura RL

Hello everyone, bought a gold color 2005 Acura RL with 91000 miles. Looks and drives great.

First the bad:
1. There is a small dent on the trunk(pic below)
2. Chrome seems to be peeling a little bit(pic below)
3. Advance Auto Parts guy things it needs a new battery soon(hesitates to start and takes a fraction of a second. Starter and alternator looks okay and battery is at 2700 instead of 3800)

Good:
1. Drives like a dream(local and highway). I have bad knees and back from sports and this is probably the first car which didnt give me any discomfort in a 300 mile/6 hour drive. I have/had BMWs, Infinitis, Lexus, Accords, Nissans
2. Clean interior and exterior for the age
3. All maintenance done(see below for list)

This is what the previous owner has done in the last 4 months
1. Xenon low beam
2. LED high beam
3. New thermostat and coolant
4. Spark plugs
5. PCV Valve
6. Timing belt kit
7. Power steering fluid
8. Break fluid
9. Front and rear differential fluid
10. Transmission drain and fill X4(not sure what that means)
11. Engine mounts
12. Cabin and engine filter
13. LED Backup lights
14. Leather treated with gel
15. Ceramic breaks front and rear and resurfaced rotors
16. Updated GPS maps
17. Bluetooth and Aux audio module($200+)
18. New Airbags from Acura as per recall
19. Water pump
20. All pulleys
21. Tensioner belt

Is there anything else that needs to be done? I will be doing the oil and filter change tomorrow athough he said he changed oil recently and its at 80%. I just installed 35% tint all around(below are photos before tint). I am loving the car so far and the reliability feedback from the members give me so much confidence in this car. I have a BMW X5 and a G37s and bought this as a daily driver. I don't mind MPG and premium gas but I am looking for reliable car on which I can put next 100,000 miles without maintenance nightmare.

Thoughts and advices are welcome. I will post updated pics tomorrow.

has two dailys, bought another

car looks great man! the maintenance sounds spot on, and sounds like you're a car guy from having two cool daily's G37 and X5. so, I'm betting if anything comes up with the RL you can spot it

Welcome! I thought I was pushing it with two cars LOL.

Honestly, it seems most of the maintenance items are taken care of. You might have some miscellaneous suspension issues creep up as the miles go up, but that's to be expected. If I were you, and this car is just a daily (nice g in the background btw ) I would honestly just replace the battery for now. You might luck out and find a wrecked RL in the same color and grab some of the flacking chrome pieces, but if it's just a beater and you're ok with the peeling, I say leave it

We have lots of threads on the flaking chrome corner pieces. You can either replace them for $$$, or take them off and vinyl wrap or paint them.

Thank you! Although I have owned a lot of cars in the last 12 years I am not a hands-on guy. I can change(chnaged) oil, filters and brakes but that's about it. I need to find a good Inde mechanic. Anyone from Charlotte area has any recommendations?

Thank you! That's the plan. I am not looking to spend money on "good to have items". So chrome peeling is okay for now. Will replace the battery soon

The Charlotte area thread would be more useful: https://acurazine.com/forums/southea...%2A%2A-383653/

Never considered NC to be in the South East versus mid-Atlantic, but whatever.

I'm puzzled why the previous owner sank so much money into preventive maintenance in 4 months and then sold. But good on you -- it means you don't have to do it.

I like the gold color on this car. It's very rare in my observation.

I like the painted brake caliper, what paint did you use and any tip for painting white "ACURA" letters?

The letters are molded into the metal. You can either tape them off or try to peel/scrape the paint off.
